Available in either Nylon or Mylar.
The Dress Aiguillette is worn with the Army Service Uniform (when worn for formal occasions/with a bow-tie) and all Mess Uniforms. Worn on the left arm by aides-de-camp, Army attaches, assistant Army attaches. Worn on the right arm by aides assigned to the President, White House, First Family, foreign heads of state, etc.(see AR 670-1, paragraphs 28-25 and 28-26).
If you are purchasing a Dress Aiguillette we strongly recommend you purchase the Mylar. There is no comparison between the professional image presented by the synthetic-gold Mylar vs. the image presented by the Nylon cord. Even AR 670-1 touches on the quality difference while at the same time allowing choice, "Either gold cord or gold-colored nylon cord may be worn, depending upon the importance of the occasion and the individual's preference" (emphasis added, AR 670-1, 28-26 b)
The Service Aiguillettes is worn with the Class A Uniform.
