Hello is this cover all one piece or is it one of the ones that can be separated and the white cover and gold buttons on the side come off?

We assemble the cap for you, but the buttons are removable.

Head size is 22-1/2....which is the closest size?

Each head shape is different. Though with that measurement we would recommend a 7-1/4
