Marlow White's swords and sabers have ceremonial blades. As such, they are built to strict military regulations to be used in drills, ceremonies, and displays. These blades are of the highest quality but are not sharpened for use as a weapon.
Watch Out For "Replica" Uniforms
Dear Marlow White Customer,
Recently, we have seen a rise in replica Army uniforms on the market. Many are made in India with Chinese accessories such as garrison caps.
Some claim to “meet the standard,” and even a few ROTC programs and new officers have trusted those claims.
Army Regulation 670-1, Paragraph 2-8f(3) states:
“Commanders will conduct periodic inspections to ensure that all personnel under their command comply with the
following: … (3) Soldiers wear only uniform and heraldic items produced by certified manufacturers, and they meet the specifications for quality and design.”
Offshore uniforms are not certified, are not authorized, and fail Army standards for quality, fit, pattern, and visual uniformity. While they may look similar to
an untrained eye, they lack quality that ensures durability for years and fail to meet design uniformity, creating real problems for Soldiers. If these manufacturers
truly met the standard, they would have gone through Natick certification. That process exists to protect Soldiers and to preserve the integrity of the Army uniform.
When you purchase from Marlow White, you get the real thing — U.S.-made, Natick-certified, and fully AR 670-1 compliant. Every Marlow White garment carries the required
Natick certification label and number inside, confirming it meets or exceeds the Army's requirements for materials and construction.
The United States has always required domestic uniform production for strategic reasons. Readiness, consistency, and quality matter. We cannot allow our strategic
uniform supply to become dependent on adversarial nations. In wartime, domestic dress uniform production shifts to combat uniform production as needed. This strategic
and emergency reallocation of U.S. industry has happened several times in the past 40 years because the underlying U.S. fabric and garment industry has been there.
Action Requested:
As leaders, please take note and look out for your fellow Soldiers. Make sure your Soldiers understand the difference and are not fooled into buying
replicas. Several certified U.S. manufacturers, including Marlow White, produce Natick-certified uniforms that meet Army standards. Offshore uniforms cannot be certified.
Thank you for your service and leadership.
Respectfully,
Daniel Greer
