Under no condition shall Soldiers receive more than one of the following: the Afghanistan Campaign Medal (ACM), the Iraq Campaign Medal (ICM), the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal (GWOTEM), or the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (AFEM) for the same act, time period or service.
GWOTEM is no longer authorized to be awarded for service in Afghanistan and/or Iraq, but remains valid for other geographical areas of responsibility.
Arrowhead devices may be authorized for the ACM
Only one award of the ACM and the ICM are authorized; service stars are not prescribed.
Order of precedence is: Kosovo Campaign Medal, ACM, ICM, GWOTEM, and GWOTSM.
