Enlisted Male Dress Blue (ASU) Coat: Made of 55% polyester / 45% wool tropical weave, dyed in the certified 450 shade. Vendor must have a current certification with Natick to make the coat. Coat includes factory-attached shoulder loops and attachable button strip with Hamilton-finish, long-shank removable buttons. Coat comes with a 36" length of soutache (not sewn on). Shoulder loop piping and soutache is color-matched to Cable #67107 (Rice 96C Goldenlite).

Female Dress Blue (ASU) Slacks with 1-1/2" Braid: Made of 55% polyester / 45% wool tropical weave, dyed in the certified 451 shade. Vendor must have a current certification with Natick to make the slacks in the current Army standard with one-inch wide braid. Slacks will be normal waistband. Slack braid will be 1-1/2" wide (the same as the male trouser), will be certified through Natick, and will be color-matched to Cable #67107 (Rice 96C Goldenlite). Note that Junior Enlisted Soldiers of the Military Honors will wear the trousers with braid and that all female Soldiers in the Military Honors wear the male braid.

Male Dress Blue (ASU) Chevrons: Made of Nylon thread, color-matched to Cable #67107 (Rice 96C Goldenlite), embroidered onto 55% polyester / 45% wool tropical weave, dyed in the certified 450 shade. Back of chevron will not have glue. Female Soldiers wear the male chevrons.

Male Dress Blue (ASU) Service Stripes: Made of 1/2" Army vellum lacing, color-matched to Cable #67107 (Rice 96C Goldenlite), sewn onto black or midnight blue Melton fabric or 450-shade Elastique fabric. Female Soldiers wear the male service stripes.

Male Black Wrap-Around Tie with Velcro(TM)-like Closure: Made of black polyester poplin with a Velcro(TM)-like closure on rear of neck under collar. Two lengths: 19" (+/- 1") and 21" (+/- 1").

Male White Short-Sleeve Dress Shirt: Made of white polyester cotton in a civilian pattern with plain collar. The shirt is short-sleeved as an exception to AR 670-1.

Male Enlisted Dress Blue (ASU) Service Cap: Made by Kingform cap, or equivalent certified manufacturer, out of 55% polyester / 45% wool tropical weave, dyed in the certified 451 shade. Male Web Belt with Buckle and Tip: Army-style black web belt 1-1/4" wide with non-tarnish 22k-gold-plated buckle and tip.

Enlisted Ceremonial Belt: Made of 55% polyester / 45% wool tropical weave, dyed in the certified 451 shade, sewn and bonded to a leatherette material that resists shrinkage. Braid is 1/4" braid color-matched to Cable #67107 (Rice 96C Goldenlite) and sewn onto the belt. Buckle is non-tarnish, 22k-gold-plated and will bear a hallmark registered with the Institute of Heraldry. The belt will have finished belt loops of 451-shade cloth 1/2" in width with 1/4" wide braid sewn centered onto the loop; both the cloth and the braid will match the cloth and the braid of the belt. The back of the male and female portions of the buckle will have a 22k-gold-plated rigid wire looped around the D-post on the back of the buckle to keep the belt securely in place without breaking when the belt is worn tightly.

Officer Ceremonial Belt: Made of officer branch cap braid (government to specify branch), sewn and bonded to a leatherette material that resists shrinkage. Outside color of officer branch cap braid is color-matched to Cable #67107 (Rice 96C Goldenlite). Inside branch color is color matched to the specific branch color specified in AR 670-1 and detailed in the Institute of Heraldry's Cable Chart. Buckle is non-tarnish, 22k-gold-plated and will bear a hallmark registered with the Institute of Heraldry. The belt will have finished belt loops of the officer branch sleeve braid sewn onto a 3/4" wide semi-rigid backing. The back of the male and female portions of the buckle will have a 22k-gold-plated rigid wire looped around the D-post on the back of the buckle to keep the belt securely in place without breaking when the belt is worn tightly.

White Clip-On Suspenders: White clip-on suspenders made of 100% durable elastic white cotton-rayon material. Adjustment buckles and attachment clips will fasten tightly to prevent slipping. Hardware will be brass or silver-color metal.

Officer Shoulder Straps (Nylon) - Male of Female: Army-specified shoulder straps as detailed in AR 670-1. Nylon embroidery shall be white (for some ranks) or Goldenlite color-matched to Cable #67107 (Rice 96C Goldenlite), embroidered onto the appropriate officer branch color, color-matched to the Institute of Heraldry Cable Chart as specified in AR 670-1.

Officer Shoulder Straps (Bullion) - Male of Female: Army-specified shoulder straps as detailed in AR 670-1. Gold- or silver-bullion embroidery shall be embroidered onto the appropriate officer branch color, color-matched to the Institute of Heraldry Cable Chart as specified in AR 670-1.

MDW Overcoat: The overcoat is a full-length, double-breasted male coat, lined to the waist, has a convertible collar, belt loops, welt pockets with through hand-openings, buttoned down shoulder loops (for Enlisted version), and a center back vent. The sleeves have sleeve ornamentation - enlisted soutache for the enlisted version and officer branch braid for the officer version. The line is sleeveless, with a stitched-down lining to the waist, hand openings, and bound edges. The liner is attached by means of a slide fastener. The referenced specification is Natick Stock Number Mil-0-43537B, Natick Number 319A, for OVERCOAT, MAN's, WOOL, BLUE, WITH REMOVABLE LINER, with the following exceptions:

   a. Shell Material: The Overcoat shell material shall be 55/45 Polyester Wool Elastique material, 13.5 ounce, Class 2 (Water Repellant Treated), dyed to Shade 450 and shall conform to specification UQC S-07-06, 11 October 2006. The cloth shall be Teflon(TM)- treated in accordance with the specification. The cloth dye lot shall be certified and shall contain the requisite mill's kaumagraph mark. The treated 55/45 wool blend is in lieu of the untreated 100 percent wool cloth.
   b. The liner shall be made of Thinsulate™ quilted lining, in lieu of the Melton wool lining.
   c. Buttons shall be bright Hamilton-finish buttons in lieu of the standard finish buttons.
   d. No belt is required, but belt loops shall be included on the coat body per spec.
   e. Sew shoulder strap clips onto the shoulders for officer coats.

"Old Guard" Scarf: The scarf will be tubular four-ply weave construction without an edge seam and with unstretched length of 48 inches (+/- one inch) and a single-fold width of 9 inches (+/- 1/2"). The ends shall be finished with an overhook stitch with no fringe. The gauge of the stitching shall be 9 stitches (+/- one stitch) per inch I both the transverse and horizontal directions. The yarn material shall be 50% Merino wool, 50% acrylic. The color shall be uniform and shall be Cable #67140, Ivory HAP.

With the advent of the new Army Service Uniform, we are seeing indication of new vendors selling uniforms not certified by Natick and possibly using non-certified cloth that can vary in color. The NG Military Honors Program has several unique components -- namely the use of the short sleeve white shirt, the unique features of the ceremonial belt, and the use of male braid on the female slack.

Finally, regardless of Natick-certification in the past, color creep has occurred over the years in the specified "Goldenlite" among various vendors' trouser braid, sleeve braid, soutache, chevrons, ceremonial belt braid, and hat braid. In the past, the NG Military Honors Program has insisted that the "Goldenlite" color of all of these components be consistent. For these reasons, we highly encourage the submission of samples.

Marlow White's swords and sabers have ceremonial blades. As such, they are built to strict military regulations to be used in drills, ceremonies, and displays. These blades are of the highest quality but are not sharpened for use as a weapon.
