Marlow White has set up this page as a resource for Public Health Service Officers who are looking for information pertaining to the Service Dress Blue Uniform. It is meant to augment the Public Health Service Uniform Regulations.
Hosiery (beige or neutral shade nylon hose without seam are required with skirts)
Prescribable Uniform Components:
Items which can be required by the Local Uniform Authority (or LUA; e.g., agency, command, etc.). Unless required or prohibited by the LUA, the items are considered optional and can be worn at the discretion of the individual.
The Service Dress Blue Uniform can be worn on more formal occasions with different accessories.
Full Dress Blue Uniform
Worn for change of command ceremonies, occasions of state, other ceremonies, and solemnities. The Full Dress Blue Uniform is worn with a skirt only and not with slacks.
The name tag is removed from the uniform for this variation. The Service Dress Blue is modified to add the following items:
Worn for official functions when civilians wear black tie (Dinner Dress Blue or White Jacket Uniforms may also be worn on these occasions). The Dinner Dress Blue Uniform is worn with a knee-length skirt only and not with slacks.
