Summertime official functions when civilians normally wear black tie. During periods other than summertime, wear the Dinner Dress Blue Jacket Uniform. DDW Jacket Uniform may be prescribed for Senior grade officer and above.
Items which can be required by the Local Uniform Authority (or LUA; e.g., agency, command, etc.). Unless required or prohibited by the LUA, the items are considered optional and can be worn at the discretion of the individual.
