Men's PHS Summer Blue Uniform (Salt & Pepper) Center
Marlow White has set up this page as a resource for Public Health Service Officers who are looking for information pertaining to the Summer Blue (Salt & Pepper) Uniform. It is meant to augment the Public Health Service Uniform Regulations.
Items which can be required by the Local Uniform Authority (or LUA; e.g., agency, command, etc.). Unless required or prohibited by the LUA, the items are considered optional and can be worn at the discretion of the individual.

Flexible belt worn over the shirttail but under the trousers, just below the waistband.
Keeps shirt tucked in and trousers in place.

Salt and Pepper Uniform Variations:
The Summer Blue (Salt and Pepper) Uniform can be worn on more formal occasions with different accessories.
Tropical Dinner Dress Blue Uniform
Worn for official functions when civilians normally wear black-tie. This uniform is intended for tropical climates where the use of other Dinner Dress Uniforms would be uncomfortable.
The name tag and ribbons are removed from the uniform for this variation. The belt and buckle become prescribable items. The Salt & Pepper is modified to add the following items:
Gold Cummerbund
Adjustable cummerbund CANNOT be worn with this uniform
