Regulation - AR 670-1 - Wear and Appearance of Army Uniforms and Insignia
For
your convenience, Marlow White Uniform
Company has included Army Regulation 670-1 on our web site. This is
the most recent Army Regulation
(UPDATED 3 Feb 05)
. We will keep this page up to date if and when
future changes or updates are announced.
Information about the new "ASU" - Army Service Uniform (20 Aug 08)
The Army has announced the new ASU Wear Policy.
We are reviewing the policy now and will be placing updated information on our ASU Transition Information Center. We will also be releasing information via our newsletter.
New Logistics Branch (11 Jul 08)
The implementation of the Logistics branch is in process. The MILPER message with information regarding the specifics of the Logistics branch uniforms is now available.
We now have almost all of our Logistics branch items in stock. View our Logistics Branch informational page for specifics.
Information about the new Service Uniform (6 Mar 08)
- GEN Casey has made a few public statements that the announcement will be sometime early summer. Our guess is that it will be June 14th, the Army’s Birthday, as major uniform announcements in the past have been made on this date (but that’s just a guess).
- Even though we are certified by Natick to produce the Gray Shirts, Soldiers are not authorized to wear them until AR 670-1 is updated. We have postponed production of any additional Gray Shirts as we wait until GEN Casey makes an announcement.
Information about the new Gray Shirt and Service Uniform (11 Jan 08)
- Marlow White is certified by NATICK to produce Gray Shirts.
- We have most sizes in stock.
- The Chief of Staff of the Army has been re-evaluating the new shirt color.
- The Vice Chief of Staff GEN Cody has recently stated that GEN Casey has made a decision and is likely to announce it "Soon."
- Marlow White has held up production until GEN Casey makes an announcement.
- The timing of us having additional shirts in stock is completely dependent on the timing and content of the CSA's announcement.
DRAFT "Change" to AR 670-1 Updates: (DRAFT dated effective 1 Nov 06)
Some of you may have seen the "Change" to AR 670-1 implementing the Army White Uniform ("Dress Whites") obsolete. In fact, we had this "Change" on our web site for a time. SGM Easley, the HQDA Uniform Policy SGM, contacted us to tell us that the document was a pre-decision staffing document only, not a published change. Some items that were contained in the DRAFT document will be modified or deleted; others will be added. We apologize for the confusion.
Clarification of the "Army Times" Reports on the Uniform Change Decision:
The "Army Times" articles reporting the uniform change inadvertently confused the terms "Army dress white uniform" and "Army mess white uniform." Per SGM Easley, the HQDA Uniform Policy SGM, the Army White Mess Uniform is not being eliminated; however, the Army plans to eliminate the Army White Uniform (a.k.a., the "Dress Whites") during this overhaul of the Army's dress uniforms.
Prior updates and changes to AR 670-1.
